If you go to the instructables website you will find many projects to build but if you ever want to save the project you will need to save the .PDF file. And of course, The only way to open that file is to register and login… or is it? I will show you how to access most of the file, legally, without logging in or signing up :] Sadly this hack does not work for all of the projects, but if you want a project really bad you can buy it without signing up.
Step 1:
Simply find a project you find interesting. I chose this one.
Step 2:
In this step we will edit the url so that you can access the .PDF document. Change “id” to “pdf”(Figure 1.1).
Step 3:
Copy the part of the URL that has the name of the project. Paste the name you copied after the last “/”(Figure 1.2). Now you are almost there.
Step 4:
Type “.pdf” at the end of the url(Figure 1.3) and press return(enter).
Step 5:
There you have it. The .PDF document is for you now and you can save it to your HDD and build it later or just reflect on your hacking ^-^

Thanks for putting this up! Sadly, it’s not working on the project “Usb-charger-with-cool-enclosure”
Thanks for updating
The whole pro paid B.S. pisses me off, I upped at one point 120 pdfs that I made myself to that site…now… eh. I just wanna get what should of been free to begin with.
Profittering off of peoples efforts is a crock
Thank you for trying my friend
I was able to get 3 out of the 40 I tried.
WOW! Thank you soo much dude! This works like a charm!
I am sooo glad about this, i needed something like this for my science project and i just couldnt get the pictures enlarged…

Thanks soo much!

Works today for the soda bottle launcher – works really well
Great!
Thank you so much!
Well, nice try but it seems that the instructables crew has blocked this method. real bummer too, because i have a lot of projects i want to try. oh well you could always do it the hard and free way, save each page and compile your own pdf… nah, too much work.
Thanks.. Very helpful…
I am trying to get Built In Book Cases to work but it won’t. Any idea?
http://www.instructables.com/pdf/Built-In-Book-Cases/Built-In-Book-Cases/step1/Materials.pdf
Thanks….
I tried this on your example URL and it no longer works, just reverts to the original URL…
We need to just hack the whole site and create a free site for people without this kind of bullshit. If anyone is to profit from these articles it should be the creator but they can get it without putting the viewer to any trouble of signing up to pro.
YEAH I AGREE WITH EVERYBODY HERE THAT TOTTAL B.S. FOR NOT LETTING US DOWNLOAD THE PDF!!!!!GUYS THERE NEED TO RESPECT THE CREATIVITY OF THE MEMBERS AND NOT LIMIT THE OTHERS’!!!!>:C
